Types And Characteristics Of Forklift Trucks
Forklift truck, as an important handling tool of modern logistics transportation, is a wheeled handling vehicle for loading, unloading, stacking, short-distance transportation and heavy weight handling of pallets. It is widely used in ports, stations, airports, freight yards, factory workshops, warehouses, circulation centers and distribution centers, etc., and can be entered into the cabin, carriages and containers for the loading and unloading of pallet goods, handling operations, is an essential equipment in pallet transport, container transport.
Forklift truck can be used to realize mechanization of loading and unloading, handling, reduce labor intensity, save a lot of labor, improve work efficiency, shorten the operation time of loading and unloading, handling, quasi code accelerated the supplies, vehicle flow, to a great extent improve the utilization rate of the warehouse, to accelerate the development of multi-layer shelves and warehouse, warehouse reduce cargo damage at the same time, improve the safety degree of the assignments.
Forklifts can generally be divided into three categories: electric forklifts, storage forklifts and internal combustion forklifts.
1. Electric forklift
Electric motor for power, battery for energy. The carrying capacity is 1.0 ~ 4.8 tons, and the operating channel width is generally 3.5 ~ 5.0 meters. Because there is no pollution and little noise, it is widely used in industries with high environmental requirements, such as medicine and food. Since each battery generally needs to be recharged after about 8 hours of operation, standby batteries should be provided for multi-shift working conditions, and special charging places should be provided in the workplace.
2. Warehouse forklift
Warehouse forklifts are mainly forklifts designed for handling goods in warehouses. With the exception of a few warehouse forklifts (such as manual pallet forklifts) which are driven by human power, the rest are driven by electric motors, which are widely used in the warehouse industry due to their compact body, flexible movement, light weight and good environmental performance. For multiple shifts, motor-driven storage forklifts should have spare batteries and special charging areas in the workplace.
(1) electric pallet handling forklift
The carrying capacity is 1.6 ~ 3.0 tons, the working channel width is generally 2.3 ~ 2.8 meters, and the lifting height of the cargo fork is generally about 210mm, which is mainly used for horizontal handling and cargo handling in the warehouse. Generally, there are two kinds of operation modes: walking and standing and driving, which can be selected according to the requirements of efficiency.
(2) electric pallet stacking forklift
The carrying capacity is 1.0 ~ 1.6 tons, the working channel width is generally 2.3 ~ 2.8 meters, in terms of structure, there are more gantry than electric pallet forklift truck, and the lifting height of cargo fork is generally within 4.8 meters, which is mainly used for stacking and loading and unloading of goods in the warehouse.
(3) forward moving forklift
The carrying capacity is 1.0 ~ 2.5 tons, and the door frame can be moved forward or retracted as a whole. When retracted, the operating channel width is generally 2.7 ~ 3.2 meters, and the lifting height can reach up to about 11 meters, which is often used for stacking and picking operations of medium height in the warehouse.
(4) electric pick forklift
In some working conditions (such as the distribution center of the supermarket), it is not necessary to ship the whole pallet, but to select a variety of goods according to the order to form a pallet, this link is called picking. According to the height of picking goods, electric picking forklifts can be divided into low picking forklifts (within 2.5m) and medium high picking forklifts (up to 10m). Carrying capacity 2.0 ~ 2.5 tons (low), 1.0 ~ 1.2 tons (medium high, with cab lift).
(5) drive a three-way stacking forklift at low position
Usually equipped with a three-way stacking head, the forklift does not need to turn, the fork rotation can achieve both sides of the cargo stacking and picking, channel width of 1.5 ~ 2.0 meters, lifting height up to 12 meters. The cab of the forklift truck is always on the ground and cannot be lifted. Considering the limitation of operating field, it is mainly used for lifting the height below 6 meters.
(6) drive a three-way stacking forklift from a high position
Similar to the low-driving three-way stacking forklift, the high-driving three-way stacking forklift is equipped with a three-way stacking head, with a channel width of 1.5 ~ 2.0 meters and a lifting height of 14.5 meters. Its cab can be lifted, the driver can clearly observe any height of the cargo, can also carry out picking operations. The high-driving three-way stacking forklift is better than low-driving three-way stacking forklift in efficiency and various performances, so this model has gradually replaced low-driving three-way stacking forklift.
(7) electric tractor
The tractor is driven by an electric motor and USES its traction capacity (3.0 ~ 25 tons) to pull several small cars carrying goods. It is often used for transporting large quantities of goods within or between workshops, such as carmaking warehouses to assembly lines, or baggage at airports.
3. Internal combustion forklift
Internal combustion forklifts are divided into ordinary internal combustion forklifts, heavy forklifts, container forklifts and side forklifts. Generally, diesel, gasoline, liquefied petroleum gas or natural gas engines are used as the power, with large carrying capacity. Generally, they can carry more than 5 tons of weight. Considering the problem of exhaust emission and noise, they are usually used in outdoor places with no special requirements on exhaust emission and noise. Because of the convenience of fuel replenishment, continuous operation can be achieved for long periods of time, and the ability to work in harsh conditions.
